Today's activity for Writing Wednesday is one of my absolute favourites. It helps to ground me and focus on something other than what is going on in my life. It's a time for us to step back and become a witness for everything happening around us, and to try and transport others into the moment we are trying to capture. Basically, we are doing a participant observation. If you don't know what that is, it's pretty much observing what is going on around you and writing it down simply as you see it. It should tantalise the senses and make the reader or listener feel like they're there. That's how I usually go about my participant observations!
The ultimate goal here isn't to write something beautiful or poetic. It's to take a moment to see what's around you and to jot it down. It's a great way to just let go of what you're feeling and to appreciate what is around you. In my attempt, I try hard to be poetic to capture the beauty around me. This is to my downfall as I felt under pressure and I didn't allow myself to let go and be free in my writing. Next time, I won't let it happen again! Want to hear my story? Watch the video to listen to it! If you're wondering, the music in this video is called 'Peace' by HOVATOFF. That's it from me. Remember to ignite the story and I'll see you again soon!
