Welcome to TaleInferno, a blog all about reviewing stories in all genres, shapes, sizes and formats. This blog is designed to help you find and discover new books to read or old ones you might have simply forgotten. It will guide you to your next read, may it be a popular one that you want to learn more about it, or one that has slipped past the public eye but is the exact book that you're looking for. All in all, TaleInferno is here to spark the interest in reading and to ignite the fire, bringing back the magic of immersing yourself into a character or setting through the simple act of reading. With that formal introduction done, here's a little bit about myself. My name is Charlotte and I am an avid reader and writer. I am a current university student studying a double degree in journalism and creative writing. I have also completed a creative writing intensive course at the University of Oxford. There is more information on me and this blog on the 'About' page of this website, but for the sake of all of you reading this and wondering why I want this blog to exist, here's what you need to know. Who?
I have already written a bit about myself but this blog is not just about me, it's also about you! This blog is designed to help you find books to read or texts to investigate. It is designed to ignite your interest in reading and to show you what is out there to read. You can also be a contributor to this blog by requesting me to read and review certain books as well, each book request being written onto a list that I will eventually get to. This means that the book you request will be reviewed by me and everyone else will be able to discover it, making you an important part of this blog. What? TaleInferno will predominately be about reviewing books to begin with, but in the future I might add other creative texts to review. I do plan on writing blog posts in regards to writing (e.g. tips and tricks, literary term explanations, etc.) and also on casual topics, like events to do with reading and writing I might attend, or just writing journal posts if I discover something interesting in my travels and day-to-day life. But, as I said before, to begin with, just books. When? I do not have a scheduled time for putting up reviews or any form of content just yet since I am only just starting out. It also depends on how quickly I can read certain texts, while also keeping in mind that some books will take longer to read than others. However, when I can get myself properly organised I will try putting up weekly blog posts about what book I am currently reading and what to look forward to. Please be patient with me, I am only but one person and do have a busy life outside of this blog but I will try and put content up as regularly as possible. Where? TaleInferno is first and foremost a blog, so everything I do will be posted here. TaleInferno does have other social media links where you can 'Like' on Facebook and 'Follow' on Twitter and Instagram, but these will be used just to keep you informed on what is happening on the blog. Why? I personally have experienced the love of reading and the wonders that surround it, but I have also experienced the feeling of not wanting to read because of all the other responsibilities in my life. I have had moments where I want to read leisurely but feel like there are other things I could be doing other than reading, like preparing for an assignment or being productive in some other form of way. There was a point in high school and the beginning of university where I stopped reading leisurely because of this stress-induced feeling of always needing to be productive and never wasting time. However, on the train to work one morning I decided to take a book with me and read it for the duration of the journey. This then led to me reading during my breaks at work, and then not being able to put the books down when returning home. The love for reading had sparked up again, being reignited in me, and I want the same to happen to all of you. This is why I have started TaleInferno. Not only does it give me an incentive to keep reading but it also allows me to help you to discover these stories as well and ignite (or reignite) your own passion for reading. I know that reading can seem boring or wasteful for some people in regards to time management but there are millions of worlds out there that people have written and created that are made for you and I to read and discover. These are stories we can immerse ourselves in and ignite our imaginations and creativity. So, I want to not only discover these stories and review them but I want you all to discover them with me. How? This is the real question. How is this any different to other blogs already out there? How will I decide on the books I will be reading and the order I'll be reading them in? The answer to the first question is... well, too be honest I'm not sure how this will be different. Everyone's ideas and opinions on books will always be different and I'm hoping that mine are engaging, easy to read and fun with my own little twists here and there. I do have ideas on content that could be quite different to what is out there. However, that might be a little further in the future. In regards to the second question, the first books I will be reading and reviewing will be the books that I already own. This will take a while to get through since I own a lot of books, but after that I will begin reading all the books that are suggested for me to read and review by all of you! Cool, I can request you to read a book to review! ... How? To start off with, just request them on the TaleInferno Facebook page, Twitter or Instagram. I am currently in the process of organising another form of communication for this (an email, for example), but for now just keep to social media. So that's about it on TaleInferno. It's a long blog post, I know, but I hope it explains to you everything you need to know about this blog and what it's all about. I also hope it has made you interested in what will be posted and that you enjoy the time you spend on here. TL;DR - TaleInferno tells you about books. You read books that sound good to you. You suggest books for review. Book will be reviewed. Everyone (hopefully) has fun!
