Today, we're talking about symbolism! Interpreting symbols in creative works is drilled into our heads when we're in school (or at least it was for me!). So, why not listen to me babble on about it? Basically, symbolism is when an object means something else. The object (or 'symbol') infers something other than what it is.
This can get complicated, particularly in this day in age where objects can have a lot of differing interpretations. To make sure we as storytellers don't confuse or disconnect our audience, we need to walk the symbolism tightrope to balance out how we use them. We can't have too many, too little, or be too obvious about them. So, although they may seem straight forward, they can be complex and we need to be careful when to use them. This will make sure our audiences can have the best experience in our stories! Want to know more? Make sure to watch the vlog! That's it from me. Remember to ignite the story and I'll see you again soon!
