6/2/2018 0 Comments Weekly update #17 (5/2/18)![]() Hello all and welcome to the update for the week starting 5/2/18! I know this is being posted a day late. However, I had some major technical difficulties yesterday that made it impossible to get onto this website and post what I needed to (damn you technology and my inability to use you!). So, here we are a day late but that’s okay because it’s better late than never! Anyway, this issue meant I got to go to bed a few hours earlier, which was very much needed as I was exhausted after my long weekend. Maybe technology was telling me I needed rest? So, the weekend was pretty cool. I got to see the people who inspire every day to work hard to do what I love. It’s increased my motivation to put all my effort into everything I do, which includes this website. As I have mentioned previously, I have a lot of plans for a variety of content this year. The weekend really encouraged me to pursue those plans and to take some risks. There are a few things I always wanted to do on this website that involves the reviewing of stories but not through the book medium. It will involve a lot of preparation but I really want to give it a shot. So, keep an eye out in future, this website is going to see some changes this year! Now let’s get into this update! ![]() Reviews Guess what? I have a secret review lined up for this week! I’m super excited about this. It is scheduled for Wednesday, so keep an eye out. I’m not giving away any hints but it’ll be fun! Blog Two blog posts are scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday. They are based on the same topic but look at it from different views. Of course, I’m writing about RoosterTeeth and the RTX Sydney convention I went to last weekend. The post on Tuesday will cover what happened and the things I learnt. Thursday will see the second instalment in my Creative writing journey series and how this company has influenced it. Currently reading Calling Major Tom by David M. Barnett I was only able to read this book on the flights to and from Sydney, so I’m only half way through it. However, I should be done with at the beginning of next week. What's next? Finding Nevo by Nevo Zisin I wrote last week that I would reveal the series I will be starting after Finding Nevo. Well, here it is: The Tomorrow series by John Marsden. That’s it! We’re going to be diving into an Australian series that looks at the possibility of being caught up in a war in Australian outback. I read this series back when I was in my last year of primary school, so I’m excited to read through it again! Achievements for the week I’m still getting over my crazy weekend, so I don’t really have any achievements for this week as I catch up on work. However, I was able to achieve one of my goals that I mentioned last week over the weekend. One of my autograph sessions was with Beth Feinstein and Geoff Ramsey. I knew that Geoff was an avid reader and had read some really interesting books over his time. So, while I had the opportunity, I asked if he had any recommendations for me to read. Looks like The Side of Paradise by F. Scott Fitsgerald is on my list of books to read! Yes, I had originally planned to ask everyone I met. However, I got a little bit star struck and tongue-tied. Pretty proud I asked him though! And that’s it! Hopefully there’s no further technical difficulties this week but who knows. I wish there was a sure way to ensure it never happens again but where I live hugely affects the connection on certain days for some reason. Therefore, we can only hope I can post content when I want to… and I am definitely not a tech-expert!
