24/3/2018 0 Comments Weekly wrap-up #23 (24/3/18)Hello all and welcome to the wrap-up for the week ending 24/3/18! As you would have seen on social media, I made the decision to postpone all content this week due to the organisation of video content. This included creating a TaleInferno YouTube account and spending time planning what I needed and how it was going to work. There were other external reasons on top of this that contributed to this decision, but ultimately I wanted to focus my energy on making sure the video content I create will be engaging and interesting. Unless something drastic occurs in future, there should not be any more weeks where no content is posted. If anything, there will now be a variety of content, from written to visual. It's all very exciting! In other news, since there has been no content and not really any changes on the website since the weekly update, this wrap-up will be kept quite short. No reviews or blog posts were published and I'm still currently reading The Dead of the Night by John Marsden. Regarding achievements of the week, there have been quite a few. We're making a lot of progress in the preparation for video content and I submitted my first assignment this week for university. I have another assignment I'll be working on over the weekend, so here's hoping I can tick another assignment off the list in the near future! I've also learnt some incredible things at uni this week, so I can't wait to share it with you (oooh, maybe that could be a video!). I will be recording and editing tomorrow, so keep an eye out for the brand new video content that should (fingers crossed) be going live next week! 'My pen is a pipe from my heart to the paper. It's about the most important thing I own.' --John Marsden, The Dead of the Night 19/3/2018 0 Comments Weekly update #23 (19/3/18)Hello all and welcome to the update for the week starting 19/3/18! This could be one of the last (if not THE last) written weekly update as we transition over to video content! I am still in the process of organising everything. However, by the end of the week I should have everything sorted. If not, well it'll be another week to wait. As they say, Rome wasn't built in a day. I also want to make sure what I create is to a good standard so that you all enjoy it! It would be useless to rush into everything and produce something that is bad (although I'm not saying that won't happen because I am not the best video editor out there!). It'll be a fun experience and I'm excited about getting into it. Better get ready to see my face more often! In other news, I have a new little office space that I decorated over the weekend. If you saw the Instagram posts, you would have seen the shelf with all its Disney-themed lights. This new office space allows me a spot to sit down and focus on uni work and TaleInferno, which makes it all the more serious to me. It's very motivating having my own little space dedicated to the work I am passionate about. It means I have a place to be creative and do what I love, so if that isn't motivating I don't know what is! Anyway, let's get into this update. 16/3/2018 0 Comments Weekly wrap-up #22 (16/3/18)Hello all and welcome to the wrap-up for the week ending 16/3/18! As you would have seen on Thursday, there are some very exciting things happening on here soon. I am so thrilled with how TaleInferno has progressed since the redesign at the beginning on the year. Although these changes will be gradual (we're looking at during this year and next year), it will be worth the wait... I hope! The first big change will be the new video content that I will be producing. Yes, that means you're going to see my face a little bit more, so I hope that's okay! I'll be aiming to make these wrap-ups as well as the updates as short videos accompanied with the text below. Then, I would progress to other parts of this website, such as blog posts that would be better as videos rather that text posts. Don't worry, not everything will be transitioned into video form! All in all, there is a LOT changing and I can't wait to get into it. Other changes include a widened scope on the kinds of storytelling mediums there are. So far, TaleInferno has focussed primarily on reviewing books while dabbling in other kinds of storytelling, such as journalism and linguistics. As this year progresses, I will start to look at other formats, such as film, TV, music and video games. This won't happen overnight. However, it's definitely something to look forward too, especially if you're more interested in those other mediums. This is a website to inspire all storytellers out there, may that be through books, film, TV, video games and so on. Everyone has their own way and it's time to ignite or reignite it! And that's it for now. Let's get into this wrap-up! 12/3/2018 0 Comments Weekly update #22 (12/3/18)Hello all and welcome to the update for the week starting 12/3/18! No public holiday is going to stop me from posting the weekly update! For those not in Australia, today was Adelaide Cup Day, which is a horse race held in Adelaide. This means the people of Adelaide get a long weekend to bet on horses or to sit around and relax. I formed the latter half of those groups, where I used this day to catch up on some sleep and spend some time relaxing. The next public holiday is Easter, which isn't too far away. So, I'm counting down the days when I get to have yet another relaxing day (although I think that one will see me more focussed on uni work!) As you would have seen on TaleInferno's Instagram account, I have my glasses! I mentioned it in the wrap-up last week but I've only started to get used to them. Having something constantly on my face and my vision being so clear and improved is so weird. It's funny how I didn't really realise I needed glasses until they were given to me! Before that, I thought it was normal to have words with blurry outlines or having sentences overlap occasionally... turns out I was completely wrong! Anyway, I have definitely seen an improvement in my reading, so hopefully I can get through more books and provide more reviews for everyone! Now let's get into this update! 9/3/2018 0 Comments Weekly wrap-up #21 (9/3/18)Hello all and welcome to the wrap-up for the week ending 9/3/18! I have so many exciting things I want to write! Firstly, this has been an absolutely fantastic week for this website. Not only was there a post up every day this week but there was an extra post today. I'm hoping I can keep putting reviews and blog posts up every day of the week but I'd also like to see Monday and Friday getting more love than only the updates and wrap-ups. Secondly, we've broken a record in the amount of views per week. We reached 650 views today, 319 being unique visitors. How amazing is that? Thank you all so much for the support. It means so much to me to share my love for reading, writing and storytelling, and I hope this website inspires you in those aspects as well. And lastly, I have my glasses! I'll be putting up photos of them either on Saturday or Sunday, so keep an eye out on the Instagram account! It's a long weekend here in Adelaide, so I'm hoping to get a lot done this weekend. It will mostly be me studying or writing up the content for next week. After such an eventful week, I hope to get some rest time in as well. We shall see! I can also feel the pressure of final year assignments creeping up, so I really need to make sure I'm on the ball with that. I don't want to be in a similar position as last year where I don't have time to put up consistent content. It will definitely be a year of learning how to manage time and keep the energy levels up. I hope my new glasses help in this regard! Anyway, let's get into this wrap-up! 5/3/2018 0 Comments Weekly update #21 (5/3/18)Hello all and welcome to the update for the week beginning 5/3/18! Over the weekend, I attended the Adelaide Writers’ Week. It is so inspiring to hear people talk about their passions, especially when it aligns with your own. It provided an insight into the world I aspire to be a part of. There is also something special about hearing authors read from their own works. You get to hear how the writer pictures the scene and how they want it to be read. The authenticity is unmistakable, and I can’t wait to tell you more in a blog post later this week! I know I go on and on about my plans about this website and it’s probably exhausting to read. However, there is some pretty cool stuff on its way (or at least I think it’s cool!). With some changes in my life, you will see content provided to you in a range of different ways because stories aren’t limited to books… Now, that’s a hint! That will be further in the future but I’ll keep you all up-to-date when it is all set-in motion. So, for now content will be provided to you in the same way with as much consistency as possible. Anyway, let’s get into this update! 2/3/2018 0 Comments Weekly wrap-up #20 (2/3/18)Hello all and welcome to the wrap-up for the week ending 2/3/18! When did it become March?! I am always amazed by how quickly time goes when you’re constantly doing things every day. Have everyone’s years been okay so far? Are still keeping up with our resolutions? For TaleInferno, this year has been fantastic. There have been some uneasy moments with technical difficulties and errors popping up at inconvenient times. Nonetheless, we saw over 600 views over one week in February, which is absolutely brilliant! Let’s see if we can break that record this month. In other news, the Adelaide Writer’s Week started yesterday. I will be there on Sunday listening in to some authors talk about their writing and maybe asking some questions (I’m a curious human-being, so it’s likely). I’ll write a blog post about it for next week and share what I learn. I love going to writer-focussed events, mostly because it motivates me to keep writing. Being around people who have similar interests and passions is always a fantastic experience. Maybe I’ll get that book I’ve been planning started! Anyway, let’s get into this wrap-up! |
