Weekly update #22 (12/3/18)

Picture
Hello all and welcome to the update for the week starting 12/3/18!

No public holiday is going to stop me from posting the weekly update! For those not in Australia, today was Adelaide Cup Day, which is a horse race held in Adelaide. This means the people of Adelaide get a long weekend to bet on horses or to sit around and relax. I formed the latter half of those groups, where I used this day to catch up on some sleep and spend some time relaxing. The next public holiday is Easter, which isn't too far away. So, I'm counting down the days when I get to have yet another relaxing day (although I think that one will see me more focussed on uni work!)

As you would have seen on TaleInferno's Instagram account, I have my glasses! I mentioned it in the wrap-up last week but I've only started to get used to them. Having something constantly on my face and my vision being so clear and improved is so weird. It's funny how I didn't really realise I needed glasses until they were given to me! Before that, I thought it was normal to have words with blurry outlines or having sentences overlap occasionally... turns out I was completely wrong! Anyway, I have definitely seen an improvement in my reading, so hopefully I can get through more books and provide more reviews for everyone!

Now let's get into this update!

Reviews
Calling Major Tom by David M Barnett will be reviewed on Wednesday. It was definitely a story that took me by surprise, so make sure to keep an eye out for it!

Blog
On Tuesday and Thursday, I'm going to go over some of the work I've done at university so far. Being in my last year means I'm finally getting into a more specialised focus, so I will be able to give you all a better look into the world of journalism, professional and creative writing, and linguistics. Therefore, Tuesday I will be covering the different kinds of editors there are and their roles in the professional world, and Thursday will look into a linguistic theory around how we present ourselves during specific discourses. It's time to get educated!

Currently reading
Tomorrow, when the War Began by John Marsden.

I've nearly finished this. With my new glasses helping me see better, I'll hopefully have it done by the end of this week.

What's next?
The Dead of the Night
The Third Day, the Frost
Darkness, Be My Friend
Burning for Revenge
The Night is for Hunting
The Other Side of Dawn

All of the above are part of John Marsden's Tomorrow series. As I said earlier, now that I have my glasses I should be able to read better and quicker. So, hopefully I get the series done soon!

Achievements for the week
I'd love to see myself finish one of my assignments this week since it's due at the end of next week. It's not a hard assignment, so I should get it done quickly. The most difficult part will be to keep to the word count!

Last week, I was able to get to the gym. I'm hoping I can do that again as it's a great tool for stress relief, which I feel I'm going to need a lot of this year!

And that's it. I'm in the process of creating content in a new format, so hopefully I will be able to reveal this to all of you soon! It's time to expand some of TaleInferno's capabilities with a 'crawl, walk, run' attitude. This means a variance in content delivery while also ensuring interesting and consistent content is produced daily (with the exemption of weekends... for now!).

If you have any suggestions, let me know! I am open to all ideas and at the end of the day, it's all of you that interact with my content. So, I want to make sure you're all interested and excited by the content delivered each day!

Hope you all have fantastic weeks, and remember to ignite the story!
