29/9/2017 0 Comments Weekly wrap-up #5 (29/9/17)Hello all and welcome to the wrap-up for the week finishing 29/9/17! First of all, I'd like to apologise. I promised a lot this week and ended up only being able to post the update and this wrap-up. There was a review planned, a possible blog post about my Seven Days of Spontaneity, and other ideas that were thrown around. Unfortunately, time got the better of me and as much as I wanted to throw some content together, I didn't want anything to seem rushed or not up to standard. It was a possibility that this would be the case. More things popped up as the week continued and before long, every minute of it was filled with things to do, so when night time came around I was too exhausted to do much else. It sounds like a list of excuses and I hope I haven't disappointed anyone. I will endeavour to do more in future, it was just this week was a little too difficult to work around. With university back next week and other exciting opportunities popping up here and there, I hope to be able to slip into a routine where I can find the time to balance life in and outside of this blog. The semester is coming to an end, so there is a lot of flexibility regarding time and hopefully I can keep my promises in future. Anyway, lets get into this wrap-up!

25/9/2017 0 Comments Weekly update #5 (25/9/17)Hello all and welcome to the weekly update for the week 25/9/17! This week is going to be a funny one. Not a 'ha-ha' funny, but weird and unusual. Today marked the beginning of my 'Seven Days of Spontaneity', which is where I get up every morning and go somewhere in Adelaide, journaling what I'm doing and putting it on my social media as part of my professional writing course. The whole idea of my project is to prove that there is something do to in Adelaide (although many might think otherwise). Anyway, this also means I don't have as much time as I want to be working on content on the website. So, depending on how everything goes away from here, it might result in some interesting blog posts about what I'm doing since I'm trying to relate it all to some form of storytelling. What did I do today then? Today was a cultural expedition through the state library, museum, art gallery and botanic gardens. It highlighted the easy access to four amazing locations all on the same street in the city. I have been to all four before and yet it still took the whole day to get through all of them, which shows how much is packed in each. However, at the end of the journey when I reached the botanic gardens I found a spot underneath a tree to read, which resulted in me taking out my notebook and writing with ease what I saw around me. The love for stories and writing can be ignited wherever you are, so take every opportunity to let it happen! Anyway, let's get into this update! 22/9/2017 0 Comments Weekly wrap-up #4 (22/9/17)Hello all and welcome to the weekly wrap-up for the week ending 22/9/17! The first week of the university break is over and there is only one more to go. Although not much has happened on here as I hoped, a lot has been happening away from it. This includes a lot of filming and editing for my television journalism as well as planning for the next big assignment, which will be taking up most of my time next week. Nonetheless, this week has been very successful and I have been coming up with some more ideas for content that should start rolling out closer to the end of the year. Next week is going to either be a big week for content or a slow one. Across the seven days, I will be heading out and experiencing the city of Adelaide and trying to prove that there is something to do here. This is part of my professional writing course, which has been focussing on long-form feature writing, specifically travel writing. So to coincide with it there may be some blog posts on here about it. I don't want this blog to start looking like a travel diary or anything, so what I will be posting will focus on the storytelling side of it, either drawing from the stories I hear from the people I'm with or short snippets of creative writing I might be inspired to do. If not, I'll be putting up the review that was meant for this week as well as the update and wrap-up for next week. Now let's get into the wrap-up! 18/9/2017 0 Comments Weekly update #4 (18/9/17)Hello all and welcome to the weekly update for the week of 18/9/17! It is the first week of the university break and it's time to start pumping out the content... hopefully. I hope that during the next two weeks I'll have more time to focus on producing more reviews and other fun blog posts. However, this break is also meant to be used to plan and start producing some of the major assignments for this semester. So, we shall see how much I can actually do. This week has started off with a cold and wet day. It was also a day that I did the filming for my journalism course (finally!). It is a lot of fun to use the big, expensive cameras and to go out and do what television journalists do. There is a lot more in the setting up process than I first expected and I haven't broken anything or had any technical difficulties... yet. It has also given me some inspiration for future content, which involves a lot of planning so it will likely be something I will do later this year. Now let's get into this update! 15/9/2017 0 Comments Weekly wrap-up #3 (15/9/17)Hello all and welcome to the weekly wrap-up for the week ending 15/9/17! As predicted at the beginning of this week, there was not a lot of content and it was very slow. I spent a lot of the time healing up from this bad cold or flu (whatever it is) and I am still very lethargic. I cannot count the amount of times I will have to pause and cough while I am typing this. However, I am dedicated to posting these weekly updates and wrap-ups, so nothing will stop me... except for technical issues or death, but lets be positive! The only thing I was capable of doing this week other than lying in bed was attempting to finish my assignment, so anything else that was achieved (a blog post, for example) has me very proud. Never fear, I am definitely on the mend. Give me enough rest, chocolate, coffee or tea, and a good book and I'll be healthy again in no time! The end of this week also marks the beginning of the university break, so the next two weeks will allow me some time to put some content together and post it out. The time will also be filled with catching up on assignments, filming and working. It's safe to say that the next couple of weeks will probably be as busy or busier than usual, but I will be able to put in some extra time on here and I am very excited about that. Now let's get into the wrap-up! 11/9/2017 0 Comments Weekly update #3 (11/9/17)Hello all and welcome to the third weekly update for the week of 11/9/17! This is going to be a slow week for blog posts/reviews for a range of reasons. Firstly, I have started this week being incredibly sick. This comes as no surprise since everyone I have spoken to or interacted with over the past couple of weeks have been sick, so I was waiting for when the moment came for me to be sick... and here we are. Secondly, I have more assignments due for University. Combining these together, it means I'm going to have to find time to rest up and heal while also 'putting my nose to the grind stone' at the same time. I do plan on getting at least one post up this week and I will try and push for two, but we'll see how I go. I'll also be trying to put up more content on social media to keep you all informed on the progress of content or anything interesting the happens during the week, so make sure to 'like' and 'follow' on TaleInferno's social media! Now let's get into this update. 9/9/2017 0 Comments Weekly wrap-up #2 (9/9/17)Hi all and welcome to the weekly wrap-up for the week ending 9/9/17. Yes, this weekly wrap-up is a day late but there is a good reason for it. As you read on the update this week, I hoped to go to the Royal Adelaide Show and the only time I was able to was yesterday, so I, unfortunately, did not have time to write this post. Have no fear, I was never going to leave you without a weekly wrap-up, and so here it is! I sit here, typing away and nibbling on the sugary goodness I bought last night. The Royal Adelaide Show is a annual fair that is full of adrenaline-pumping rides and plenty of sideshow games to try your best at and maybe win an oversized soft toy. For me though, I could be found petting every animal I was able to, admiring the decorated cakes and the tremendous Bonsai's, and trying out all the free food that I could get my hands on. It was a simply fantastic time, and if you ever find yourself in Adelaide at this time of year, it is definitely worth checking it out. Now let's get into the wrap-up! 4/9/2017 0 Comments Weekly update #2 (4/9/17)Welcome to the weekly update for the week starting 4/9/17! In Australia, we have just entered Spring. The last couple of days have been a mix of sunshine and rain, and I feel that has been a good indication of my motivation as we start heading towards the busier weeks for University. As much as I am a lover for colder weather with cups of tea and coffee to warm my soul, the prospect of warmer weather has been exciting me as it means I can finally pull out my favourite floral dresses and find alcoves under trees to read without the fear of being rained on or being too cold. The introduction of consistent weekly updates and wrap-ups seem very apt with the beginning of this season as it is all about new life and growth, so I'm hoping over the next couple of months to start fresh new content to pair with my book reviews and blog posts. This includes a blog post expanding on my creative writing journey, 'tips and tricks' posts, and more! So to start this weekly update, here's a quotation from The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring by J R R Tolkien that pairs well with the beginning of Spring and to future endeavours. 'For still there are so many things
that I have never seen: in every wood in every spring there is a different green.' 1/9/2017 0 Comments Weekly wrap-up #1 (1/9/17)Hello all and welcome to the first weekly wrap up for the week ending on the 1/9/17. These weekly wrap-up's will be covering what has been done this week (or what hasn't been done with explanations... or excuses), any problems along the way, anything that was interesting that I learned this week, what I plan for the weekend, and more. I hope to add something new each week to make every wrap-up interesting and different from the last, so make sure to keep checking up every Friday! Another bonus for this wrap-up is it means more content for you, which is always very exciting, and you get to learn a little bit more about the blog and I... which I'd also like to think is exciting but that's up to you to decide. As you will learn from this wrap-up, it will pair with the weekly update that started off the week. There are still a few aspects of these updates and wrap-ups that I want to work on to make them interesting and different from each other, so I will start to figure that out as the weeks progress. Again, I'll reiterate from the weekly update, if you have any suggestions for the updates, wrap-ups, reviews or anything else, please let me know. I want this blog to be accessible, interesting and fun for everyone, and the only way I will be able to do that is if I hear from you! This blog isn't just about me trying to inspire you, it's about all of us inspiring and igniting the stories within each other. Anyway, here's the wrap up for this week: |
