4/9/2017 0 Comments Weekly update #2 (4/9/17)Welcome to the weekly update for the week starting 4/9/17! In Australia, we have just entered Spring. The last couple of days have been a mix of sunshine and rain, and I feel that has been a good indication of my motivation as we start heading towards the busier weeks for University. As much as I am a lover for colder weather with cups of tea and coffee to warm my soul, the prospect of warmer weather has been exciting me as it means I can finally pull out my favourite floral dresses and find alcoves under trees to read without the fear of being rained on or being too cold. The introduction of consistent weekly updates and wrap-ups seem very apt with the beginning of this season as it is all about new life and growth, so I'm hoping over the next couple of months to start fresh new content to pair with my book reviews and blog posts. This includes a blog post expanding on my creative writing journey, 'tips and tricks' posts, and more! So to start this weekly update, here's a quotation from The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring by J R R Tolkien that pairs well with the beginning of Spring and to future endeavours. 'For still there are so many things that I have never seen: in every wood in every spring there is a different green.' Reviews Only one review will be posted this week and it will be on The Hobbit by J R R Tolkien. This will be available on Wednesday... as long as there are no further technical issues like last week, but hopefully they're now all fixed. Blog My reviews lately have been on fantasy novels, and the forecast for the next few will be in the same genre. Therefore, I plan on putting up a blog post about what makes a fantasy story on Thursday. The post will give an overview on what a fantasy entails and some tips and tricks on how to write them. This will start a new 'genre' series of blog posts that will coincide with the reviews at the time. For example, if I read and review a lot of romance novels or series, then there will be a blog post expanding on the genre or romance. Anything new? As I wrote above, this week will introduce the new 'genre' series. This will be paired with coinciding book reviews, so there won't be a consistent time they will be coming out. The blog post this week will be on fantasy. I hope to add new series of posts in the next couple of months, so make sure to keep checking these weekly updates for news! Currently reading The Lord of the Rings by J R R Tolkien. What's next? One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey. Achievements for the week I have another assignment due at the end of this week, so that will be taking up most of my time. The Royal Adelaide Show is on at the moment, so I hope to make some time to go this week. This will also depend on the weather as well, which looks to be raining for the next couple of days, so there is a chance I will miss out this year. However, my love for the petting zoo and seeing all the animals will probably win me over! If I do go, I hope to pet all the animals I am allowed to and see some Turkeys. And that's it for this week. Hopefully everything goes to plan and I have no further technical difficulties like last week. Keep checking up on the website and on social media to stay up-to-date with what's happening, and I'll see you in the next post!
