20/8/2018 0 Comments Weekly update #34 (20/8/18)Hello all and welcome to the update for the week beginning 20/8/18! I’ve been getting really inspired about this website recently with some small things in my life. From certain comments and feedback on here or on social media, it makes me so excited for the future. I can’t wait to keep igniting the story with all of you! I have some massive plans that are truly in action currently, and I can’t wait for you all to see them. Some of these plans also include a couple of changes on the website, but it will be for fun, interesting and (hopefully) engaging content for all you storytellers out there! So, keep an eye out on here or like, follow and subscribe to TaleInferno’s social media to keep up to date with everything that’s happening. Now, let's get into this update! News Vlogs are coming back! That’s right, we’re aiming for a vlog out later this week to ease us back into them. So, keep an eye out for that. There will be some fun little announcements in there about future video content! Reviews The Night is for Hunting by John Marsden, which is the sixth instalment in his Tomorrow series. When: Wednesday Blog/vlog We’re still going through our ‘What is a…’ series with our punctuation marks. So, next up is our tricky semicolon! So, keep an eye out for ‘What is a… semicolon?’ later this week. When: Thursday I will also be aiming to upload a vlog in a bid to start putting vlogs up more often. I’ll provide more details in the video, but it is also in preparation for a whole range of new content I have planned. When: Friday Currently reading The Rider by Tim Krabbé Beginning Theory: An introduction to literary and cultural theory by Peter Barry Crush it by Gary Vaynerchuk I’ve never been good at having multiple books on the go! However, with my university studies and the interesting reference books I come across, I want to start showing you all some of these amazing texts. So, expect some further content around what I’m reading! What’s next? Reviews The Other Side of Dawn by John Marsden The whole Tomorrow series review This Side of Paradise by F. Scott Fitzgerald And, most recently added to this list: The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. Blog/vlog We’re going to continue chipping away at different punctuation marks is our ‘What is a…’ series. After semicolons we will be looking at the em and en rules. What are they? Well, that will all be revealed in ‘What is an… em and en rule?’. I’ll soon be putting up blog posts on some of the really interesting linguistic and literary theories I’ve been learning and reading about. It’s all well and good to understand grammar and punctuation, but what else can we include in our stories to make them effective and engaging? So, in the next couple of weeks, you can expect some posts on these aspects of storytelling! And, of course, there will be some vlogs coming out soon. You will need to wait until the vlog later this week to hear about what is coming up in that space! Books to read I Can’t Stop Jacking Off by Mr Socially Awkward The Legends of Eve by Anonymous These two eBooks have been requested for me to read and review, so if you have any books you want me to read through let me know in the comments or on social media! I’m happy to jump into any story (with some exceptions), so don’t be afraid to send them through. And that’s it for the week. Remember to ignite the story and I’ll see you again soon!
