Weekly update #46 (3/12/18)

Picture
Hello all and welcome to the update for the week beginning 3/12/18!

When did we hit December? So much has happened this year I haven’t been able to keep up. I am very excited with what the new year will hold and soon you will know why! Over the next couple of weeks as we edge towards the end of the year, there will be a lot of announcements to get you pumped for what’s coming up. 2019 is going to be one hell of an adventure and I hope you’re ready for it!

The first thing that needs to happen is the launch of the new website. I keep writing and talking about it, so I know you’re waiting for it. Don’t worry, it should be done soon! When we launch it, there may be a few issues during the transition but it will all be worth it.

Anyway, let’s get into this update!

News
The redesign of this website is very close to being done. With that will come some other big announcements, so watch this space!

Reviews
I Can’t Stop Jacking Off by Mr Socially Awkward is the next book for review. It’s definitely a little bit different to some of the other books I have read, so I’m excited about reviewing this one.

When: Tuesday

Blog/vlog
The third instalment for ‘Why I love storytelling’ will come out later this week. As always, what it’s about will be kept a secret. You will have to wait and see!

When: Thursday

I am very excited about this week’s Writing Wednesday. The activity I will be getting us to do involves us going outside and taking in our surroundings. It’s one of my favourite things to do as a writer, so I hope you’re excited!

When: Wednesday

For Vlog Friday, I will be talking about metaphors and similes. When used well, these literary devices can strengthen our storytelling and paint a vivid picture for our audience.

When: Friday

Currently reading
The Hypnotist by Laurence Anholt

Reviews
The Legends of Eve: A Warriors Past by Anonymous
Sing You Home by Jodi Picoult
The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks

And newly added to the list:

Witch Born by Nicholas Bowling

Blog/vlog
More posts will come out for my ‘Why I love storytelling’ series. You can also expect a ‘Creative writing journey’ post soon. As we head towards the end of the year, these will form to have Christmas and ‘end of year’ themes attached to them, so it’s time to get jolly!

In the Vlog space, Writing Wednesdays will continue with more activities. I’ll keep them as fresh and new as I can. However, if there are any activities you enjoy, let me know. I’m always happy to go back and do one again!

Then for Vlog Friday, I will be talking about the art of foreshadowing!

Books to read
From my long list of books to read, here are the books coming up next:

  • The Wolf by Leo Carew
  • Being Shot by Gail Bell
  • The Fifth Room by Allison Rushby (A. J. Rushby)

However, I also have two books that I have been requested to read and review by you guys! Added onto the list are:

  • Nothing Is Predictable by Adalina Mae
  • The Cobblestone Flowerpot by Troy Drayton

Thank you for the requests! I am so excited to jump into these books!

That’s it from me. Remember to ignite the story and I will see you again soon!
