19/2/2018 0 Comments Weekly update #19 (19/2/18)Hello all and welcome to the update for the week starting 19/2/18! I'm slightly amused by this weeks update. Mostly because it's #19 and the week is starting on the 19th. Ah, it's the small things in life! Anyway, it's my last week before university starts. I'm super excited about the fact that it's my last year but I'm curious to know how it will all play out. I have a structure in my head regarding the organisation of time and when I need to do assignments, but it'll be interesting to see how it all plays out with work. I'm not worried at all because I've got it all under control, I'm only curious by it all. In other news, the Adelaide Fringe is now on! I've been able to catch one show so far, which was quite funny. The festival I'm most looking forward too as we head into March is the Adelaide Writer's Festival. I went last year and listened to a lady talk about Jane Austen. Going to festivals primarily for writer's is so fascinating. Seeing people sitting together writing or chatting to each other about their favourite books is so inspiring. I'm not sure how I'll fit in the time to see anyone but I will give it my best shot! Maybe I'll write a blog about it! Anyway, let's get into this update.

16/2/2018 0 Comments Weekly wrap-up #18 (16/2/18)Hello all and welcome to the wrap-up for the week ending on 16/2/18! What a week! I know I didn't post much but it was for a very good reason. Now that we're into the end of February, the projects at work are ramping up and I have had my first taste at the responsibilities I now hold. I am absolutely chuffed with where I am at my work and I am still loving every minute of it. After this week, I am fully aware of what's ahead and I can now plan and organise my life to ensure everything both at work and on this website are done. I also realise that university will bring a whole other layer. However, I feel very confident in that aspect of my life, so I shouldn't have anything to worry about... I hope! I am currently writing this feeling absolutely exhausted after a very strenuous week. It might sound like I'm annoyed or stressed but because I'm doing something I really enjoy I have loved every second of it. Honestly, I can't wait to curl into bed and sleep for a good amount of hours to charge up my batteries to jump into another week of fun challenges. I am so glad to be where I am at work because it really highlights the idea that if you do the stuff that you love it doesn't feel like work. Knowing that I get to sit at a desk all day and have the task of writing professionally or engaging with people to organise communications is such a thrill, and I'm hoping that flows onto here. Anyway, enough about all of that. Let's get into this wrap-up! 12/2/2018 0 Comments Weekly update #18 (12/2/18)Hello all and welcome to the update for the week starting 12/2/18! Goodness me this year is going fast. It's already the middle of February! A lot has happened so far this year and it's got me so pumped for what the rest has on offer. There's also some great opportunities popping up for future endeavours, which is absolutely fantastic. Also, on another front, we reached the 600 views mark over the weekend! I don't know about you but that has me jumping out of my seat with excitement. I know that compared to what else is out there, 600 views can be seen as not a lot. However, it's huge for me and as I continue to watch it grow I'll get more and more excited. Thank you all so much again! University is back in two weeks time. That's right, TWO WEEKS! I know that the holidays university students get here are pretty long, particularly if you don't have exams. However, I have been so busy with redesigning this website and working at my full-time job that it has been such an amazing whirlwind. With each passing day, I feel myself growing in confidence and developing more skills to write in many different tones and styles. I'm hoping this experience in the 'real world' will have a positive impact on what I produce for my assignments. I know the more I write the more I'll improve. Hopefully that is the case! Although I don't have to really worry about that yet... let us relax in the free time I have! Anyway, let's get into this update. 9/2/2018 0 Comments Weekly wrap-up #17 (9/2/18)Hello all and welcome to the wrap-up for the week ending 9/2/18! It’s hard to believe that I was in Sydney on Monday. The weekend was so much fun I’m still on a high. It’s made me feel reinvigorated and motivated, which I think I have mentioned a hundred times. However, I’m trying to hold onto this feeling for as long as possible so that I can continue producing good and consistent content for this website (good would be a subjective opinion, and I’d like to think that’s what it is). It’s been so much fun so far and I can already tell that this website will act as an outlet away from work and University, taking away the stress I may or may not feel. In other news, the websites stats are still improving! We have toppled over what they were like before the website redesign, which is fantastic and I hope that this will continue! I’ve got a tonne of content that I’ve been planning and developing while doing other work as well, and ideas keep bouncing around in my head. Knowing there are more than 200 people who have visited this website this week makes me so excited to share all of this work with you and makes creating interesting content more important to me. Now let’s get into this wrap-up! 6/2/2018 0 Comments Weekly update #17 (5/2/18)Hello all and welcome to the update for the week starting 5/2/18! I know this is being posted a day late. However, I had some major technical difficulties yesterday that made it impossible to get onto this website and post what I needed to (damn you technology and my inability to use you!). So, here we are a day late but that’s okay because it’s better late than never! Anyway, this issue meant I got to go to bed a few hours earlier, which was very much needed as I was exhausted after my long weekend. Maybe technology was telling me I needed rest? So, the weekend was pretty cool. I got to see the people who inspire every day to work hard to do what I love. It’s increased my motivation to put all my effort into everything I do, which includes this website. As I have mentioned previously, I have a lot of plans for a variety of content this year. The weekend really encouraged me to pursue those plans and to take some risks. There are a few things I always wanted to do on this website that involves the reviewing of stories but not through the book medium. It will involve a lot of preparation but I really want to give it a shot. So, keep an eye out in future, this website is going to see some changes this year! Now let’s get into this update! 1/2/2018 0 Comments Weekly wrap-up #16 (1/2/18)Hello all and welcome to the wrap-up for the week ending 1/2/18! Looky here, we've made it into the second month of the year. Where has the time gone? I always hear people say that when they get older the years go by quicker. Now I finally understand the sentiment. Nonetheless, what a month it was! The website redesign was finally unveiled and the website was more active than ever. The stats have been improving and so to does my motivation. The support so far has been astounding and I can't wait to see what the rest of the year holds. It'll be a challenge balancing work, this website and going through my final year of studying. However, the excitement, motivation and inspiration that I've had so far makes me think I'll be able to get through it all! As you can see, the week hasn't really ended. Although it's only Thursday, I'll be jetting off tomorrow to see some people who have helped inspire me and grow in confidence. In light of this, the laptop will be staying at home where it is safe and I won't forget it. So, here we are. Don't worry though! If you keep up with the website on social media, you'll see me being active by documenting the awesome experience that this weekend will surely be. Then, after this weekend I'll be back on the website with more content to post! I see a second instalment of the Creative writing journey in the near future, as well as some interesting reviews! Let's get into this early wrap-up! 29/1/2018 0 Comments Weekly update #16 (29/1/18)Hi all and welcome to the update for the week starting 29/1/18! With RTX Sydney 2018 on this weekend, I'll be flying out to Sydney on Friday. I have made the decision not to take my laptop with me for a couple of reasons, in which case I will not be able to post content. That means this week is going to be a little bit shorter and the weekly wrap-up will be posted on Thursday rather than Friday. However, I will be on social media for most of the weekend, so make sure to like and follow TaleInferno on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram! I am feeling much better compared to when I wrote last week's weekly wrap-up. The stomach bug I had has passed, thankfully. If there's one thing I love equal to reading and writing is eating, and having that taken away from me for a day was very distressing and upsetting. Here's hoping I don't get sick again this weekend (knock on wood!). Speaking of which, I cannot wait for what's in store this weekend. I can predict myself buying a lot of merch, so expect some not-very-model-like pictures on my Instagram! After this weekend, I will have plenty of content to post over the coming weeks, so this is where things will really kick off! Now let's get into this update! 26/1/2018 0 Comments Weekly wrap-up #15 (26/1/18)Hello all and welcome to the wrap-up for the week ending 26/1/18! Although I didn't post content every day this week I was able to post everything I planned to, so it was still successful! The reason behind there not being content on Thursday was because I fell ill with a bad stomach bug that had me unable to focus on anything but not throwing up. Nonetheless, the review for Thursday was pushed to today, so not all is lost! Anyway, this week in general was a pretty good one. The beginning set it off with the purchase of VIP RTX Sydney tickets, and to be honest I don't think I have come down from that high! I was already set to go before I purchased those tickets but snagging them was fantastic! I've started planning some content around it for a couple of weeks time, so keep an eye out! Today is Australia Day and I didn't really get up to much. I spent the day resting up since my stomach still felt a bit sensitive, finished reading Bitter Fruits by Alice Clark-Platts and wrote up the review for An Abundance of Katherines by John Green. In saying that, it was still a pretty good day that I will soon finish off by sitting myself in front of the Xbox. All in all, I'd say this week has been a very nice one with lovely weather and good vibes... if you forget the part where I got sick! Anyway, time to get into this wrap-up! 22/1/2018 0 Comments Weekly update #15 (22/1/18)Hello all and welcome to the update for the week starting 22/1/18! After last week's successes, I'm please to say that this week will be just as successful (hopefully!). Seeing the improvement in the website stats has really got me motivated to keep providing you all with consistent, exciting and original content for the rest of the year. The support so far has been immense and I really hope this excitement can continue. We're looking at a new post every day again, which is fantastic and I'm super excited to jump right in. And I have fantastic news! Although it is not story or book related, I have been able to grab some VIP tickets for RTX Sydney 2018. Roosterteeth is a company that has inspired me in so many ways and I am so excited to see them in two weekends time. To have been able to get those tickets is an absolute dream. To meet the people who have inspired me, who have pepped me up on days where I felt down... I cannot find the words to express it. In light of this, there will be a blog post in the future detailing my time there. Again, I understand it is not story related but they have be a part of my creative writing journey. All will be explained in due time. Will I see any of you there? Anyway, let's get into this weekly update! Hello all and welcome to the wrap-up for the week ending 19/1/18! This is a wrap-up to cover not only this week but the other two wrap-ups I didn't post last year. Too be fair, there isn't much to write for them... but I like my numbers to match! This week has been absolutely fantastic for a multitude of reasons, so I'm hoping this is a good sign for the rest of the year. Not only are the website stats going back to how they were before I redesigned it but they're improving! Thank you so much for the support so far, here's to the rest of the year! It's been a very warm week here in South Australia (I have never been so happy to work in an air-conditioned office) and although I'm more of a winter person, the sunshine does tend to up my motivation. This is good news for work, this website and all the other hobbies I have. As you would have noticed, content was posted on every day this week, so I'm pretty stoked so far. If all goes to plan, which it should, then content will be posted every day Monday to Friday for the rest of the year. So, strap yourselves in, this is going to be a fun year. I know I'm excited. Time to ignite the stories in all of us! Now let's get into this wrap-up. |
